Discover even more magic with sourdough bread making as we walk through select intermediate bread techniques together.
This class would be a good fit for a person who has already taken the beginner class with me, and/or who has attempted to bake at least 3 loaves of sourdough bread on their own.
The first part of the class will be primarily used to answer any looming sourdough questions you may have, concerning starter, recipes, shaping, bulk baking, and more. Bring all your notes and pictures so we can discuss in depth.
The second half will be step by step shaping/inclusions and shaping/decorating buns with food coloring.
Sun City Sawdust is a BYOB friendly location, bring your favorite drinks and food to enjoy during your class.
We will cover:
FAQ session taking direct questions and pre-submitted questions
shape a ½ loaf with inclusions
shape 4 buns and decorate with edible paints
includes hamburger bun instructions and inclusion ideas
taste testing an everything loaf (caramelized onion, feta, and everything bagel seasoning)
option of liquid or dried starter to take home
You will need:
apron (or use one of my plastic ones)
chopping knife (for inclusions)
cutting board (for inclusions)
Step-by-step with a professional artist/baker/instructor who explains everything thoroughly and makes it fun to work on your bread skills!
Class Description:
We will work on inclusions and decorating with food coloring. Plus we will cover all your questions and concerns from your current experience making sourdough at home.
You will leave with a ½ loaf with inclusions, 4 decorated buns, a bun recipe. inclusions idea list, and starter if needed.
Class is approximately 2 hours in length. Class length may vary based on speed of students and may run over time.
All food materials are included. You will need to bring the following items: apron (if you like), chopping knife, cutting board.
You will leave with dough that needs to be taken home and kept in the fridge, or baked within 2 hours of class.
Please note who you want to sit with if multiple people are signing up individually. If you are bringing a child to share your materials, note that a max of 2 people may sit in for one ticket (1 adult + 1 child - or 2 children). One adult per ticket.

Convenience:
Each class is taught step by step by a trained instructor and baker. All questions will be answered during the class. Melissa has 16 years of professional experience baking professionally and 12 years of experience teaching creative classes.
Clothing:
Please wear appropriate clothing that can get messy. There is a possibility that your clothing or personal items may be stained if materials get on them.
Cancelation Policy:
If you have to cancel, please let me know via email or phone at least 24 hours in advance of class time to receive a refund. If you have to cancel less than 24 hours before class, contact me directly for instructions. If you are a no-show to class, you will not receive a refund or credit.
